Our trip to California!

Well, we're on the second-to-last day of our trip to California to be with Mike's fam. It's been so much fun - hiking, good food, gorgeous scenery, movies, and most importantly family time. We used some of our Christmas money to get a new camera which we took on our hike to Fern Canyon on Tuesday. This camera is such a blessing! :) Here are some shots from that day...


My cute hubby with his pants all rolled up! The river that goes through the canyon was extremely high because of all the rain they've been getting down here! Gretchen and I decided to take our shoes off and wade through (OUCH.). Mike decided to plunk through the water with his shoes and socks on. Haha, but he did roll his pants up. Way to save the pants, babe! He's taking some sweet shots with his Hasselblad here.


Here is the canyon. Again, it was pretty affected by the rain, but still beautiful. These walls are covered with lush green ferns in the summer time. We'll be back for sure!

BEST DAY EVER - apple picking at the Fruit Loop in The Gorge in October. It was a GORGEOUS day and we got tons of fruit.....which led to tons of baking.....I'm still in the nesting phase. :)

Our first Christmas tree - we had SO much fun getting our house all cozied up for Christmas. Getting snowed in on top of that was perfect (although I'm extremely thankful that the snow is going away - praise the Lord for clear pavement!).

A humble update after months of silence....

I think I'm the worst blogger ever. :) It's been months since I've updated this and my sweet sister urged me today to get in here and get to business! That being said, it's been a wonderful and busy couple months since our honeymoon/newlywed posts. I can't believe we've almost been married for six months already! CRAZY! And wonderful too. The Lord is still knocking my socks off with His blessings. Here are a couple wedding photos, as promised:

Here we are in beautiful Victoria, B.C. The city is a wonderland at night - it was so fun being out and about! We also ate some ridiculous food while we were there - we spoiled ourselves. :)

We are in Canada....and we're married!

Back from the honeymoon!

We have made it home and are getting settled into our place! In three days from now, we will have been married for a month. What a GIFT it's been! :) Of course, you can hardly call two weeks of vacation bliss normal life, but we are settling in. This was the first week of what normalcy might be like for us and it was wonderful!

I'm going to take this opportunity to say that I'm married to an amazing man - he is a servant, a giver, and such a dear friend to me. I'm sure I have my googly eyes on :), but I'm also positive that this is an accurate description of who Mike is and what the Lord has gifted him with. I'm very thankful!
